What should your enquiry include?

Start with a description of the component, its application and the quantity required. If documentation is available, include the material designation and the requirements for the finished component.

• A technical drawing, 3D model, photographs or a description of the sample component.
• The material grade, if specified.
• Key dimensions and quantity; for repeat orders, the expected demand.
• Details of any existing foundry pattern or permanent mould.
• Machining requirements and any specified mechanical properties, leak-tightness requirements and acceptance criteria.
• The required delivery date and whether the enquiry concerns an urgent repair or maintenance job.

Enquiries for urgent repairs

If the component is needed for an urgent repair or maintenance job, state this at the beginning of your message. Give the required delivery date and describe any available drawing, pattern or sample component. Feasibility and delivery timing must be agreed for the individual job.
