METAL-KOLOR / ALUMINIUM CASTINGS

Aluminium alloy castings

We produce aluminium alloy castings, including aluminium-silicon alloys. Before production, we agree the grade, available documentation and required delivery condition.

Use the grade from the drawing

The terms “aluminium” and “silumin” cover many alloys. Send the complete material designation stated on the drawing or in the specification.

ISO 3522 covers composition and mechanical properties of separately cast test bars for aluminium casting alloys, but it does not replace the requirements specified for a particular component.

What should an aluminium casting enquiry include?

Send a drawing or 3D model and specify the aluminium alloy grade if it has been selected. State whether a foundry pattern, permanent mould or sample component is available.

  • Give the quantity and any expected repeat batches.
  • Identify the required delivery condition and surfaces to be machined.
  • Include any mechanical, leak-tightness and acceptance requirements specified in the documentation.

If the grade or tooling has not yet been established, state this in your message. Email the documentation to biuro@metalkolor.pl. Do you need a pattern for your casting? Explore our foundry pattern making services and the information needed for a tooling enquiry.

As-cast or machined delivery

The scope may cover an as-cast component or machining of specified surfaces. Allowances, tolerances and acceptance requirements must follow the agreed documentation.

We do not identify a grade from a photograph alone. If the designation is missing, describe the application and operating conditions.

Examples from the project archive

The photographs show components from the historical METAL-KOLOR gallery. They do not state the grade or production parameters for a specific order.

FAQ

Before you send an enquiry

Answers to the most common questions about the initial information.

Is “silumin” a sufficient material designation?

No. Aluminium-silicon alloys form a broad group. Include the full grade from the drawing or specification.

Can machining be ordered with the casting?

Yes, when the scope is defined in the documentation. Identify the surfaces, dimensions and acceptance requirements.

What if no foundry pattern is available?

Send a drawing or sample and state that no pattern is available. The possible preparation scope can then be reviewed.

Can a photograph confirm the alloy grade?

No. Visual appearance does not replace a material designation or technical documentation.
